Large-scale Russian Assaults Disrupt Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's energy systems have come under increased attacks in the past few days

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were hurt while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and dealt with problems to water systems, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, as reported by area administrators.

Russian forces has escalated assaults on energy facilities over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "concrete actions" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the US, Europe and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and implementing restrictions," was stated in a online statement.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 projectiles targeted energy facilities, labeling such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were laboring to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles hit power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, as confirmed by city authorities.

Area administrators said the urban area came under heavy assaults overnight. A young boy died and several individuals were injured.

The assaults follow evenings of air raids in the area, parts of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to spot.

Authorities told journalists that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already disrupting energy systems.

He said energy workers and government agencies were anticipating further attacks.
